Notes:

  • Abaqus Interactive and Analysis products use 64-bit addressing, unless noted otherwise.
  • Abaqus/Standard uses double floating point precision; Abaqus/Explicit offers both single and double floating point precision. Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Viewer use single floating point precision.
  • Parallel execution of Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit is supported on all of the above-mentioned platforms. See the Parallel processing table for more details.
  1. 3Dconnexion SpaceBall motion controllers are supported and can be used for view manipulation in Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Viewer.
  2. Includes Abaqus/Foundation as well as Abaqus/Aqua and Abaqus/Design, each of which require enabling license tokens.
  3. Includes Intel Pentium and Xeon, and AMD Athlon processors.
  4. XFree86 is required.
  5. Distributed memory parallel (DMP) not supported for Abaqus/Explicit, Abaqus/Standard domain decomposition iterative solver, and Abaqus/Standard element operations.
  6. Uses 32-bit memory addressing.
  7. Includes AMD Opteron and Intel EM64T processors.

Notes:

  1. SMP: Shared memory parallel; Thread-based parallelization mode is available only for SMP. No additional software is required for accessing Abaqus thread-based parallel capabilities.
  2. DMP: Distributed memory parallel; DMP requires appropriate Message Passing Interface (MPI) libraries and interconnects. See Systems Requirements for details.
  3. See Answer 3097 for more information on availability of DMP on Windows/x86-64.
