Notes:

  • Abaqus Interactive and Analysis products use 64-bit addressing, unless noted otherwise.
  • Abaqus/Standard uses double floating point precision; Abaqus/Explicit offers both single and double floating point precision. Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Viewer use single floating point precision.
  • Parallel execution of Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit is supported on all of the above-mentioned platforms. See the Parallel processing table for more details.
  1. Geometry Translators for CATIA, I-DEAS, Parasolid, and Pro/ENGINEER are available as add-on options requiring additional licensing. See the Geometry Translators table below for more details on supported platforms.
  2. 3Dconnexion SpaceBall motion controllers are supported and can be used for view manipulation in Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Viewer.
  3. Includes Abaqus/Foundation as well as Abaqus/Aqua and Abaqus/Design, each of which require enabling license tokens.
  4. Includes Intel Pentium and Xeon, and AMD Athlon processors
  5. XFree86 is required.
  6. Distributed memory parallel (DMP) not supported for Abaqus/Explicit, Abaqus/Standard domain decomposition iterative solver, and Abaqus/Standard element operations
  7. Uses 32-bit memory addressing
  8. Includes AMD Opteron and Intel EM64T processors
  9. Requires MpCCI Version 3.0.5. Also note, MpCCI Version 3.0.4, which was used with Abaqus version 6.5 is not compatible with Abaqus version 6.6. See the Fraunhofer SCAI website at http://www.scai.fraunhofer.de/mpcci.html for more information.
  10. SIMULIA intends to qualify and support Abaqus Version 6.6 with MpCCI 3.0.5 and FLUENT 6.3. However, delays with the official release of both MpCCI 3.0.5 and FLUENT 6.3 caused full qualification of FSI Co-simulation to lag the release of Abaqus V6.6.  In the interim, FSI Co-simulation using MpCCI with Abaqus Version 6.6 has been partially qualified using pre-release versions of MpCCI 3.0.5 and FLUENT 6.3. Until qualification can be completed with released versions of MpCCI and Fluent; SIMULIA recommends that interested FSI users continue to use Abaqus V6.5, MpCCI 3.0.4 and FLUENT 6.2.16.  Check back for new information which will be posted here as qualification progresses for FSI Co-simulation.

Notes:

  1. SMP: Shared memory parallel
  2. DMP: Distributed memory parallel; requires appropriate Message Passing Interface (MPI) libraries and interconnects. See Systems Requirements for details.
  3. Threads: Thread-based parallelization mode; available only for SMP. No additional software is required for accessing Abaqus thread-based parallel capabilities.
  4. MPI: Message Passing Interface (MPI)-based parallelization mode; requires appropriate MPI libraries.
  5. See Answer 3097 for more information on availability of DMP on Windows/x86-64
