AcuSolve from ACUSIM Software
Cosimulation with AcuSolve uses the SIMULIA Direct Coupling Interface to solve complex nonlinear fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems involving compliant structural response to fluid flow and their subsequent interaction. AcuSolve is a general-purpose computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver from ACUSIM Software. The structural response computed using Abaqus/Standard or Abaqus/Explicit is coupled in a synchronous manner with the fluid flow computed using AcuSolve. Mechanical and/or thermal fields can be exchanged. Cosimulation with AcuSolve is particularly suited for transient applications exhibiting nonlinear structural response. This capability extends the physical domains to include incompressible and mild compressible fluid flow by solving the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations. The ability allows us to accurately predict the response where the interaction effects are dominant and fluid loads are not known a priori.
