Updated May 29, 2007
Dassault Systèmes Simulia Corp. (“SIMULIA”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of the data that you send to us. This notice explains our on-line information practices so that you may make choices as to how to use our website.
By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this notice. We recommend that you review this notice from time to time to see if it has changed. Your continued use of our site is your acceptance of our privacy policy.
Use and Purpose of Collected Information
Our website does not collect any personal information about you other than the information that you intentionally submit to us by completing and sending a form on our website, by submitting email to us, or by logging onto one of the areas of our website that is restricted to registered users.
SIMULIA and its affiliated Dassault Systèmes companies may use this information internally in connection with processing your inquiries and orders or to help improve our products and services.
We would only share such information with third parties outside the Dassault Systèmes family of companies with your express permission or as required by the applicable law. Information is used solely for the purposes described below.
We bind our employees to observe your privacy and confidentiality rights.
How and Why We Collect Information
IP Addresses
We do not collect any information about users who are merely browsing through our website. However, if you request a page from our website or download any information, our servers will log your current IP address. An IP address is automatically assigned to your computer every time you browse the Internet. We do not link IP addresses to any personal information about you. We will see your e-mail address only if you give it to us by filling out a form or by sending us an e-mail message.
Cookies
Our website may use "cookies" to process and store information relevant to your use of our websites and services. Cookies are identifiers that a website can send to your browser to keep on your computer to identify you and make your successive visits to the website more efficient. You can set your browser to notify you when you are sent a cookie. This will give you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it.
User Information:
In our effort to provide personalization and some services, we may at times ask you to submit information about yourself. You never have to answer these questions. However, if you should elect to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide you with some of the services dependent upon the collection of this information.
We will use your personal information within the family of Dassault Systèmes companies to send you e-mails and certain marketing communications that we think may be of interest to you, such as new product offering and/or technical updates. You may stop the delivery of future promotional e-mail from SIMULIA or its affiliated company by following the specific instructions in the e-mail you receive.
SIMULIA does not make your personal information available to third parties outside the Dassault Systèmes group. SIMULIA may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party.
When our website asks users to enter especially sensitive information such as a credit card number, that information is encrypted and is protected by encryption software that is generally recognized as state-of-the-art encryption software. While on a secure page, such as an order form for training or documentation or for registering at an SIMULIA seminar or conference, the lock icon on your browser will be locked. We also restrict access to this information on our computers to the processing clerks who have a need to know. SIMULIA promises to use any financial information that you submit solely for billing and payment purposes for that special transaction.
Submissions
SIMULIA welcomes user input and feedback and provides various services whereby such information can be made available to users of our web services, such as FAQs, Case Studies, Examples, and other services. Anything that you post to our website ("Submission") is understood to be non-confidential and non-proprietary. You have no expectation of privacy and SIMULIA has no obligation of privacy with respect to any Submission. SIMULIA may freely copy, reproduce, incorporate, distribute or use any Submission as it wishes.
In some parts of our website, as in the support services for licensed users of our software, it may be necessary for you to submit files or data that you deem to be confidential. Any such information should be clearly marked as "confidential" or "proprietary". SIMULIA will treat this information as your private content as described below.
Some Special Situations:
SIMULIA may disclose information that you have furnished about yourself if SIMULIA believes in good faith belief that such action is reasonably necessary: (1) to comply with the law; (2) to comply with legal process; (3) to enforce the Terms of Use; (4) to respond to claims that such content violates the rights of third parties; (5) to protect the interests of SIMULIA or others.
