Scott Berkey Joins ABAQUS as Vice President, Worldwide Operations
Paris, France, and Providence, R.I. USA, August 7, 2006 - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that Scott Berkey has joined ABAQUS as Vice President, Worldwide Operations. As a member of the senior management team charged with establishing SIMULIA as the DS brand for simulation, he will provide strategic and operational direction for the brand’s global sales, services, and field technical support functions.

An accomplished executive, Berkey has spent most of his career in senior positions for high-technology and software companies. He comes to ABAQUS after serving as CEO of Axentis, Inc., which develops software for managing enterprise governance, risk, and compliance. Prior to this role, he was president and CEO for over four years at Proficiency Ltd, a leader in software for product data integration and engineering collaboration. Berkey also held a number of executive-level positions at SDRC, at times responsible for the Asia/Pacific region, Metaphase operations, and North American sales. Berkey earned a B.S. degree in Applied Science at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and an M.B.A. degree at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
