Michigan Regional Users’ Meeting
November 12 – Pre-Meeting Seminar
November 13 – Users’ Meeting
Overview
The Abaqus Unified FEA product suite offers powerful and complete solutions for both routine and sophisticated engineering problems covering a vast spectrum of industrial applications. Leading companies are taking advantage of Abaqus Unified FEA to consolidate their processes and tools, reduce costs and inefficiencies, and gain a competitive advantage.
Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to learn about the latest Abaqus simulation capabilities while sharing your experiences in real-world Abaqus applications. All users, regardless of their simulation expertise or domain focus, can maximize their software investment by attending.
Please note that this year we have expanded the Users’ Meeting by adding the following Pre-Meeting Seminars:
Solving Challenging Contact Problems: This seminar presents an overview of the fundamentals, as well as strategies and techniques through which you can make effective use of the contact modeling capabilities that are available in Abaqus. Content is drawn from both Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit. Enhancements available in Abaqus 6.8 and 6.8-EF are discussed in detail.
Managing Simulation Data, Processes, and Applications with SIMULIA SLM: Built on top of the proven ENOVIA MatrixOne platform, SIMULIA SLM allows engineers, analysts, and designers to work on projects more efficiently. It provides a structured, well-ordered framework to manage simulation data and processes to facilitate improved design decisions. This class will introduce the fundamentals of this new product as well as explain how the addition of the Engineous Software product suite will help you realize “requirements-driven design” with SLM.
We look forward to seeing you in November. Please let us know if you have any questions about this year’s event

Abaqus V6.8 introduces logical-physical co-simulation allowing you to couple Abaqus to control algorithms defined in Dymola or via user subroutine. In the above example the logical system defines a target motion. Sensors and actuators in Abaqus ensure the kinematics stay within the desired ranges.
|
With enhanced dynamic substructures in Abaqus Version 6.8 both the stiffness and viscous damping matrices can be unsymmetric. In the example above, a tire substructure is created based on nonlinear preloading from the steady state transport analysis of a rolling tire in contact with the road. The system model includes structural-acoustics and advanced material mechanics. |
