Simulation Driven Design
for Containers

Tuesday, March 9 – 11 a.m.-12 p.m. EST

  • Do you face delays in the product design cycle while waiting for physical test results?
  • Would you like to perform what-if scenarios on virtual prototypes?
  • Are you challenged with balancing product quality, cost, and time to market?

Join us for a free one-hour webinar to learn how designers can leverage realistic simulation for all aspects of container design. This webinar will demonstrate how traditional, advanced simulation methods can be combined with Simulation Lifecycle Management and design optimization using Isight to provide a complete solution for the container designer.

Using a typical workflow in plastic bottle manufacture – simulating the blow molding process followed by a top load – we will demonstrate the concepts of workflow capture, automation, and deployment. This workflow will be further extended to include optimization to minimize the amount of material used to produce a bottle while satisfying a top load criterion. Finally, we will demonstrate how Simulation Lifecycle Management can be used to capture and manage the data and IP, bringing value to all, from small companies to global enterprises.

Learn how to:

• Leverage simulation IP through the regular CATIA V6 environment
• Validate bottle design configurations using Abaqus
• Optimize designs using Isight
• Utilize Scenerio Definition to interface between the designer and the   simulation communities

Who Should Attend:

All designers, engineers, and engineering managers who are interested in exploring how to use advanced FEA technology and methods to improve and streamline their container design and development processes.

About the Presenter:

David Cadge, Industry Lead —Consumer Goods & High Tech, SIMULIA

David has worked with SIMULIA since 1995 in various capacities within our customer service and marketing teams. David is responsible for developing and promoting SIMULIA's strategy for simulation for both the Consumer Goods and High Tech industries. He has traveled extensively, visiting customers around the world to understand their workflows and requirements while promoting our current capabilities and best practices. Information gathered during these visits helps us provide enhancements for advanced technology, usability, and productivity so that simulation can become an integral part of design practices.
