Composites Modeling

With increasing use of composites in structural design, better and faster techniques to model their mechanical response are needed. This poses unique challenges both in terms of designing the structural geometry and the ensuing solution for the analysis. Abaqus Unified FEA provides several tools specifically designed to solve today’s analysis for tomorrow’s composite structures, and we are presenting a series of lectures aimed at introducing these tools to you. Attend one or all three of the following webinars and find out how to create process workflows and leverage SIMULIA’s R&D expertise in the field of linear and nonlinear mechanics to model composite structures.

Topic:

Composites Modeler for Abaqus – Solid Filling

Date:

Wednesday, July 22

Time:

11:00 AM – Noon, EDT

  • Using solid elements to model composite structures
  • Assigning user–defined ply properties to existing solid elements

Who should attend:

Engineers and designers interested in analyzing composite structures with greater control and improved durability of workflow. The webinar series will also be helpful for new as well as experienced users trying to acquaint themselves with the modeling of composites using Abaqus.
