Through collaboration with SIMULIA, Panasas is committed to optimizing the performance of Abaqus FEA software on the Panasas Parallel Storage Cluster technology. Too often, CAE workgroups have separate storage infrastructures for various stages in a CAE workflow, such as different storage for computation vs. pre- and post-processing. Panasas offers benefits of a unified approach to data access and storage management.
ActiveStor 5000
The Panasas ActiveStor 5000 is the latest unified storage product family that combines an innovative blade architecture with the advanced ActiveScale PanFS operating environment. The ActiveStor 5000 is designed to fully unify data access and storage management for CAE workflows that include applications on Linux clusters, and also workstations, servers and back-up systems on a network that might be running Windows or Unix. A single ActiveStor 5000 system is a 4U high, rack-mounted shelf comprised of 1 to 3 DirectorBlades that manage the control path access, and up to 10 StorageBlades of 1 to 1.5 TB each for data access to the cluster. Adding shelves will scale a single shared file system under a single namespace to petabytes of shared storage access.
