External Inversion of Circular Tube: Effect of Die Radius Under Dynamic Loading

The tube was compressed onto four types of die radius—3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm and 10 mm—under dynamic loading. The simulation time was set to 1 ms. As shown in the image, the maximum displacement of the tube increased while the radius of the inverting die decreased. The results were due to the greater meridional bending caused by the dies of smaller radius.
