For Students
Now students can have their own personal finite element analysis tool to use on or away from campus. Abaqus Student edition is ideal for students using Abaqus as part of their coursework as well as for practicing engineers who wish to become more proficient with Abaqus.
Please watch this one-minute introduction to the
Abaqus Student Edition.
"Having Abaqus Student Edition has really improved the quality of my course. It has been excellent for the students to have Abaqus on their home computers. Using the Teaching and Student Edition versions together has been cost effective for training undergraduate students in basic FEA concepts.”
Bill Klug, Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, UCLA
Abaqus Student Edition Capabilities
The Abaqus Student Edition includes the core Abaqus products; Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit, and Abaqus/CAE. Model databases are compatible with other academically-licensed versions of Abaqus so that students can perform increasingly sophisticated analyses on models originally created in Abaqus Student Edition. The full HTML documentation set provides a thorough, searchable resource for students to find detailed information.
Designed for personal educational use, the maximum model size is set to 1000 nodes (for both analysis and postprocessing). Access to features requiring compilers (user subroutines, Abaqus Make, C++ ODB API), parallel execution, or add-on products has not been included. Replay and journal files are not available for Abaqus/CAE.
The Abaqus Student Edition may NOT be used for commercial purposes.

Getting Started with Abaqus: Interactive Edition
This manual contains a series of self-paced tutorials and fully worked examples designed to help new users become familiar with the software. Due to the limitations inherent in the Abaqus Student Edition, not all problems are suitable for use; however, reducing the model size on some problems will allow them to be run using Abaqus Student Edition
