Nonlinear FE Analysis of a PreNorthridge-type beam-column connection

The objective for this project was to reproduce experimental data under cyclic loading condition. The FEA results using the Abaqus FEA product suite were reused for characterization of nonlinear behavior of the connection. For FE modeling, geometric nonlinearity was considered. Plus, cyclic plasticity model with mixed hardening assumption was used. Bolt pretension was simulated with friction between components.
