A model of a spherical biological inclusion within a polymeric substrate is created using the Abaqus FEA product suite. Fluid and ions may transport through the surface of the inclusion. The input file for this model applies custom hydrostatic fluid elements across the inclusion’s surface. This input file is submitted to Abaqus and run in parallel with a FORTRAN module to simulate the behavior of these elements and generate the pressure–volume data for our research.
