For Researchers
The Abaqus Unified FEA product suite has an unsurpassed reputation for technology, quality and reliability. It has been adopted by major corporations across all engineering disciplines as an integral part of their design process. It is the software of choice for training tomorrow’s engineers.
Abaqus Research Edition has the same functionality as our commercial versions and is a powerful tool for conducting state of the art research. Students in master and doctoral level programs are able to analyze and solve realistic engineering problems. Powerful user-defined subroutines allow flexibility in modeling advanced research materials, complex surface and contact behaviors and other user-specific features.
Academic licenses are available to accredited, degree-granting institutions for use in teaching and basic research. Academic programs share a compatible file structure and common user-friendly interface, allowing students to solve a wide range of problems, from simple linear static analysis to highly nonlinear dynamic applications.
Abaqus Research Edition Capabilities
The Abaqus Research Edition includes access to Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit, and Abaqus/CAE. Inclusion of both Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit allows the choice of appropriate analysis techniques or even a combination of both analysis techniques for different types of simulations. Powerful user-defined subroutines allow flexibility in modeling advanced research materials, complex surface and contact behaviors, and other user-specific features.
